{"id":438,"date":"2021-07-21T05:57:02","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T05:57:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themepalacedemo.com\/dark-music\/?page_id=438"},"modified":"2026-05-02T18:22:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T16:22:18","slug":"stream-your-music","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/karlicekduo.com\/?page_id=438","title":{"rendered":"About Karlicek Duo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Karlicek Duo<\/strong>, formed by Czech brothers <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/karlicekduo.com\/?page_id=483\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Petr Karlicek (piano)<\/span><\/a><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/karlicekduo.com\/?page_id=482\">Josef Karlicek (cello)<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, combines deep musical understanding, technical mastery, and genuine emotion to create performances that both move and inspire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in 1984, the Karlicek Duo has established itself as a distinguished ensemble in the field of chamber music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They refined their artistic collaboration at the S\u00e1ndor V\u00e9gh Chamber Music Academy in Prague, studying with K. Hashimoto, M. Bourque, A. Lonquich and Ch. A. Linale. Additional inspiration came from members of the Smetana Quartet, whose chamber music tradition significantly shaped their musical development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1995, the duo received the B. Martin\u016f Prize as well as the Special Award of the Czech music magazine <em>Hudebn\u00ed rozhledy<\/em> in recognition of their outstanding interpretation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A major milestone in their international career was their debut recital in 2008 at Casals Hall in Tokyo.
